A folded flyer starts as a flat A4 sheet, 210 x 297 mm, and finishes as A5 at 148 x 210 mm with a half fold, or DL at 99 x 210 mm with a tri fold or Z fold. A gate fold on the same sheet finishes at 105 x 297 mm. 128 gsm and 157 gsm art paper are the usual stocks; below roughly 120 gsm the folded piece feels limp, and anything from 200 gsm upwards has to be creased before folding or the coating cracks along the spine. Laminated sheets always need creasing. Typical uses are service and price information, clinic and dealership handouts, mailer inserts and event programmes. The most common artwork mistake is drawing every panel the same width. On a tri fold or roll fold the panel that turns inside must be 2-3 mm narrower, otherwise it buckles at the fold.
