Indoor posters are printed on 200 gsm satin poster paper for everyday use, 250 gsm where a heavier hand is wanted, or self-adhesive vinyl when the print goes straight onto a wall or panel. Standard trims are A3, A2, A1, A0 and B1, and odd sizes are cut from the same rolls. Large format does not need 300 dpi artwork. A poster read from about a metre away is comfortable at 150 dpi at final size, and one hung above head height holds up at 100 dpi. Supplying files at 1:10 scale, with the effective resolution multiplied by ten, is normal practice and keeps the file workable. Allow 3 mm bleed if the poster is trimmed to size, or a 20 mm white border if it drops into a snap frame. Matt or gloss lamination is worth adding where posters get handled; mounting onto board is quoted separately.
