Product labels are supplied on rolls for applicator machines or on sheets for hand application. For roll work we need three things: the core size, with 76 mm usual for automatic applicators and 40 mm for hand-held guns, the largest outside diameter your machine accepts, and the winding direction, given as position 1 to 4 for the leading edge of the label. Material follows the container. Art paper sticker suits dry goods, matt or gloss PP handles wiping, chilling and condensation, clear BOPP gives a no-label look, and kraft matches unbleached packaging. Opacity matters on dark or transparent containers, where white PP or a white underbase stops the contents reading through. Keep barcodes at 100 percent scale or larger with the quiet zone clear, print them in solid black rather than a four-colour build, and set small ingredient text in a single colour to avoid registration blur.
