Outdoor banners are printed onto frontlit PVC flex, 440 gsm for general use and 510 gsm where the banner is large or has to sit through a monsoon season. Solvent or latex inks are used so the print takes rain and direct sun; colour still shifts gradually under UV, most noticeably in reds and purples. Standard finishing is a welded hem all round with brass eyelets at roughly 500 mm centres and one in every corner, plus reinforcement patches at the corners on bigger banners. Pole pockets replace eyelets where the banner slides onto a rod, and each pocket needs about 100 mm of extra material allowed in the artwork. Files can be built at 1:10 scale; 30 to 50 dpi at final size is enough for a banner read across a car park. Keep text and logos 80 mm clear of the hem.
